Happy to share my latest presentation on Agentic Commerce, with an expanded section on authentication in Europe.
My view is that 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲 can be designed to comply with 𝗣𝗦𝗗𝟮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗦𝗖𝗔) requirements, including for 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁-𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿-𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗖𝗜𝗧) are SCA compliant by design.
𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁-𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗔𝗜𝗧) can also be compliant: — where merchant(s) and maximum amount are known upfront — where an existing exemption applies — or by bringing the cardholder back in session for SCA Looking ahead, further regulatory solutions may also emerge, for example by analogy with 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁-𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 or through the introduction of a new specific exemption in the upcoming revised 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗖𝗔.
A very interesting area at the intersection of payments, AI, and consumer protection.
